QA Airman oversees flightline operations

U.S. Airmen assigned to the 20th Maintenance Group maintenance quality assurance flight are tasked with providing oversight and mentorship to various maintenance Airmen at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. These Airmen, which include metals technology technicians and tactical aircraft maintainers, determine the likely cause of identified negative trends and problem areas through various evaluations and inspections. On average these Airmen perform approximately 10 to 15 inspections daily, 1,100 inspections monthly and more than 13,000 inspections annually.
