Team Shaw honors WWII POW

U.S. Air Force Col. Daniel Lasica, 20th Fighter Wing commander, presents Jacqueline Heckel with a Prisoner of War Medal for the sacrifices her late husband, Col. Charles C. Heckel, made as a World War II prisoner of war at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Jan. 19, 2018. During his time in the Army Air Corps, Heckel was captured as a POW by German forces and was forced to march across Germany before he was liberated by American 3rd Army forces.
