Chief Master Sgt. Patrick Porter fights back tears as he takes the podium to say a few words at the end of his official retirement ceremony, Feb. 14, 2012, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. Several Airmen and civilian members of Team Shaw filled the Carolina Skies club to support Porter as he closed a vast and important chapter in his life. According to Porter's superiors, mentees, and peers he was best known for sharing his immense military wisdom gained over his 25 plus years of service as well as his straight forward and unique leadership style.
