5/9/2012 - SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- This week's Shaw Spotlight is Airman 1st Class Ahnna Barboza, Air Forces Central network operations security center enterprise controller, from Fort Worth, Texas.
"Barboza has been a key member of the NOSC operations team," said Staff. Sgt. Bethany Zacahary. "Barboza assisted in AFCENT war driving efforts and was a key member during the installation of eighteen systems, allowing the discovery of unauthorized wireless networks. Not only has Barboza excelled on duty, but she also strives toward personal and educational improvement. She has completed her associate degree requirements, along with her Community College of the Air Force degree requirement."
Along with her educational and work related achievements, Barboza has dedicated time to Shaw's community. She assisted in the organization of the Women's History Month Luncheon, where Nikki Haley, South Carolina state governor, attended.
Family: Two Brothers
Music: "I listen to everything. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Indie folk music lately with my boyfriend.
Movies: "My favorite movie is Zoolander. Every time I watch it, it makes me laugh".
Hobbies: "I love to run. I ran cross-country all throughout high school. I also like scrap booking. I love taking pictures."
Sports Teams: "Being from Texas, as far as football, of course the Dallas Cowboys are my favorite. As for a baseball team, I like the Texas Rangers. I used to go to a lot of games when I was living there. My debit card even has Texas Rangers on it."
Guilty Pleasure: "I love chocolate. Most people like it, but I like it on a whole new level."
Goal: "I want a bachelor's degree for network design."
Biggest Accomplishment: "Joining the Air Force, and making it though Basic Military Training. And also cooking my first meal."
Heroes: "I don't think I have any heroes. I have people I look up to, but not really any heroes."
Favorite Food: "Country fried steak."
If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things would you have? "I would like a boat, a big jug of water, and exercise clothes."
