Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Det 212
10/2/2012 - SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Many Airmen are hesitant to report criminal activities to Air Force Office of Special Investigations and I understand why. In order to provide our Airmen an easy, anonymous and effective method to report criminal, terrorism, and insider threat information, OSI has opened its first "Anonymous Tip Line" operating via the internet, SMS (texting), and a smartphone application.
These tools allow anyone to provide OSI with anonymous tips on everything from drugs and theft, to terrorist activities and potential insider threats. Even better, the online and app versions allow individuals to send in photos and allow agents to request more information without diminishing the tipster's anonymity. Additionally, all three avenues of reporting allow the tipster to check on the results of their tips.
In order for this initiative to really take off and become effective, we need your help to promote it. With your help, we can educate our Airmen these new avenues to report crime in user-friendly ways. Thanks in advance for your help with this initiative.
