Shaw opens Frierson Road
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Shaw's Frierson Road is scheduled to permanently open to the public in July. Base officials are making plans to establish a new fence and separate base housing outside the base perimeter fence line by summer 2009. Military Citizen of the Year
SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Senior Master Sgt. Tricia Benning receives the Military Citizen of the Year award from Mr. John Jones Jan. 17 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Sgt. Benning was the chapter president and now senior advisor for the Air Force Sergeants Association chapter at Shaw. Military Citizen of the Year
Shaw AFB, SC-- Each year the Sumter Chamber of Commerce recognizes one local servicemember as the military member of the year. This award is based on significant civic support and contributions to the Sumter community.
The Sumter Chamber of Commerce recently named SMSgt Tricia A. Benning as its Military Citizen of the Year. Senior Master Sgt. Benning's contributions to the community includes: As the chapter President and now Senior Advisor for the Air Force Sergeants Association chapter at Shaw, she reinvigorated a failing chapter into a thriving and focused professional military organization. Shaw AFB, SC--The Airmen's Attic helps Airmen and families by offering shopping and augmenting their quality of life at no cost. The Airmen's Attic is located in building 1402 and is open Tuesday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., depending on volunteer availability. The new facility, setup in July, is larger and gives them more flexibility to store items longer and to serve more customers.
