Warrior of the Week: Airman 1st Class Vernon Rogers

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. --   Editor's note: The Warrior of the Week program recognizes outstanding Airmen here who exemplify the Air Force's Core Values.

This week's Warrior of the Week is Airman 1st Class Vernon Rogers, 20th Communications Squadron cyber security, from Wilmington, Del.

He is responsible for communication security, wing information assurance and providing encryption for voice and data lines.

His favorite part of the job is getting to be involved with and see the entire base.

"Rogers is the kind of Airmen that you can tell cares about giving to the Air Force and his fellow Airmen everything he can," said Tech. Sgt. Jacob Wolock, 20th Communications Squadron NCOIC of information assurance. "He is motivated, dedicated and trustworthy. I am happy to have been able to serve with him."

Family: Darlene, his wife

Hobbies: Playing Call of Duty and Uncharted

Guilty Pleasure: Chocolate and French fries

Goals: Get senior airman below-the-zone

If you could spend one hour with anyone who would it be and why? "Albert Einstein. He was a geniu,s but he was out there."

Favorite food: Meat lover's stuffed crust pizza

Biggest accomplishment: Making it into the military.

If you could only have three things while stuck on a desert island, what would they be? A knife, a lighter and sunglasses
