Flooding

Several areas on Shaw AFB have the potential for flooding during heavy rainfall. Pedestrians and motorists are reminded to use caution when traveling through areas of standing water on roadways.

Areas of potential flooding:
- The inbound lane of Shaw Drive at the roundabout at Friendship Chapel
- The area between the library and main fitness center, flooding out into Shaw Drive and covering the street to the dorm resident parking lot.
- The north end of the flightline on Sweeney Road.

If flooding on base occurs, roads may be closed with yellow barriers. Please be aware or alternate routes.
