We sat down with Airman Peter Slevinsky, 20th Force Support Squadron force management technician, to get to know him and how he helps make the 20th FSS the best in the Air Force. Slevinsky is best known for his awesome skills as a force management technician and his ability to bring morale to his office. You can also catch him having jam sessions with his friends, playing classic rock and metal, and gaming with friends.

Where are you from?
Connecticut.

Why did you decide to join the Air Force?
The job I used to have, was just me stacking boxes for 8 hours, and I didn’t want to do that for the rest of my life. My brother was in the Air Force and I saw what the Air Force did for him so I wanted in too.

We’re always busy, either answering questions through emails or phone calls.

My favorite sport is skateboarding and there aren’t really skateboarding teams but my favorite individual athlete would be Nyjah Huston.

What is one thing you wish people knew about your job?
The process of how we do each and every job. It’s not like we can go in, flip a switch and immediately fix the problem. There’s a process that has to be completed for anything to happen.

What is your least favorite task and how do you make sure you get it done?
Updating anything. Every update in our system takes 24 hours to be up, so say there’s a mistake in an update, we have to wait another 24 hours to fix it.

What is your favorite part of the job?
What I enjoy about being a personalist is helping people. It’s satisfying to me to be able to help people around me and this base.
