Do you see one of our network providers? If so, you may be one of many Active Duty members affected by the recent issue of improper reporting procedures of medical documentation. It is your job as an Active Duty member to be aware of the proper policy, process and procedures that are in place to ensure and maintain your medical records are up to date.

When an Active Duty member is seen at a military treatment facility, their medical documentation for that visit is uploaded electronically to their medical record. However, when a member goes to see one of our network civilian providers, either by referral or on their own, there is a separate process that is followed to ensure the documentation is reflected accurately in their medical record.

All Airmen are required to report medication received from any civilian physician to their Primary Care Manager before resuming normal duty operations. This will allow the PCM to adequately assess the individual's medical history and current prescriptions to ensure they are ready and able to carry on the mission.

The PCM will make any duty restriction recommendations necessary, instruct on follow-up care and complete the appropriate documentation in the member's military medical record. If not noted, important medical information will be kept from your PCM that may affect future care.

It is essential to keep you PCM aware of any and all changes made by a network civilian provider to ensure that you receive the highest quality care obtainable. Here at the 20th Medical Group we take pride in caring for our patients. For any questions or concerns please contact your PCM at 895-CARE (2273).
