SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. – The addition to the 20th Force Support Squadron main fitness center at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina was opened March 30.

The new addition made room for more amenities, utilizing the whole building with different ways to pursue wellness.

“We celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new Weasel Warrior Fitness Center,” said Staff Sgt. Wendell Walker, 20th FSS fitness specialist. “We introduced 39,000 square feet of newly-renovated fitness areas to include a basketball court, aerobics room, parent-child area, fitness assessment cell, spin room and racquetball courts.”

The 20th FSS developed the expansion to meet the diverse needs and interests of Team Shaw.

“I’m super pumped about all of the new opportunities for us to work out,” said Jaquelynn Madsen, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron Airman dorm leader. “I’m most excited about the aerobics room.”

A list of classes and events scheduled to take place in the new addition is posted on the Shaw AFB Fitness & Sports Center Facebook page as well as inside the facility.
