During a morale building day here, warriors emerged to participate in the 20th Mission Support Group's Warrior Challenge.

The Warrior Challenge is a day filled with fitness and challenge events to build morale and camaraderie within the 20th MSG.

The 20th MSG consists of six squadrons: force support, civil engineering, communications, security forces, logistics readiness, and contracting.

"These morale events are held bi-annually where everyone in the group can come out and enjoy a day of competition and camaraderie," said 1st Lt. Nathan Demers, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal flight commander.

This year cadets from the Clemson University, S.C., and University of North Carolina-Charlotte, N.C., Reserve Officers' Training Corps program also attended to experience the fun side of active duty military life, said Demers.

The day included a 5k run, softball, a cross-fit competition, watermelon eating contest, a chicken wing cook-off, ultimate frisbee, and tug-of-war.

"Having events like this is good for boosting the morale," said Airman 1st Class Aaron Smith, 20th Contracting Squadron contracting administrator. "It gets the squadrons together where everyone has a good time and interacts with each other."

The largest event during the challenge was softball where the 20th Civil Engineering Squadron came out victorious.
