Press Release 24-2016: Poinsett Range to host 75th Ranger Battalion

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. — Soldiers assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment 3rd Battalion assigned to Fort Benning, Georgia, are scheduled to perform live night fire exercises on Poinsett Electronic Combat Range, Wedgefield, South Carolina, the week of Sept. 19.

Residents and land owners in the area surrounding Poinsett Range might experience loud noises and ground vibrations due to scheduled training during this time.

Airmen assigned to Shaw Air Force Base began training with inert rockets Sept. 12 on Poinsett Range and training is scheduled to continue until Sept. 22. Noise from rocket training may be heard between 12 - 10:30 p.m., during the scheduled dates.
