SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Editor's note: The Warrior of the Week program recognizes outstanding Airmen here who exemplify the Air Force's Core Values.

This week's Warrior of the Week is Airman 1st Class Steve Major Atkins, 20th Logistics Readiness Squadron material maintenance, from Hinesville, Ga.

Airman Atkins is a material manager at the parts store for the jets and helps maintain the shop.

"My favorite part of the job is pulling property and interacting with the customers," he said.

"Airman Atkins is a solid airman who gives 100% in everything he does," said Senior Master Sgt. Stewart Smith, 20th LRS first sergeant. "He displays a can-do attitude everyday for his peers to emulate. He is a prime example of why the 20th LRS is the best LRS in the Air Force."

Family: mom, dad and sister in Georgia

Hobbies: Basketball

Favorite music: Hip hop

Favorite movie: Action comedy, X-men

Favorite sports team: Chicago Bulls

Hero/mentor: "Michael Jordan. His teamwork on the court and how he loves what he does is the way I want to be.."

Goals: Enjoy life and to one day have a family.

If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why? "Rocio Gonzales, she is a very good friend and we have a lot in common."

Favorite food: meat lover's pizza

Biggest accomplishment: Getting through basic training

If you could only have three things while stuck on a desert island, what would they be? A tent, blanket and pillow
