F-16 Viper Demonstration Team prepares for upcoming season
U.S. Air Force Capt. John Waters, F-16 Viper Demonstration Team pilot, waves before takeoff for the 20th Fighter Wing certification flight over Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Jan. 9, 2017. The mission of the team is to inspire the future generation of pilots and maintainers through their combat demonstration of the aircraft. The F-16CM Fighting Falcon has a General Electric F-129 engine capable of producing over 27,000 pounds of thrust, which translates to more horse power than the entire starting lineup of the Indianapolis 500.
