Mission:
Seam readiness expectations from the Combatant Commanders and Air Combat Command with our Wing and DRU readiness requirements and capabilities.

Purpose:
Optimize the overall Readiness of Service-Retained conventional CAF Forces, and when directed, ensure the generation of Force Elements for deliberate or crisis-action deployment and employment.


Lines of Effort for Combat Readiness
1. Foundational Readiness: Absorb, train, and build readiness.
2. Operational Readiness: Support the AFFORGEN model and deliberate GFMAP tasking.
3. Crisis Readiness: Respond rapidly and decisively in support of Major Combat Operations.

 

                                  

About 15th Air Force

Fifteenth Air Force, headquartered at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, is a Numbered Air Force (NAF) under Air Combat Command activated Aug. 20, 2020.  As an institutional, service-retained operational headquarters, 15th AF optimizes the overall readiness of conventional Combat Air Forces and presents units to combatant commanders for employment. Additionally, 15th AF commands 17 wings and two direct reporting units in the U.S., ensuring that over 850 aircraft and associated personnel are prepared, generated and sustained according to Air Force priorities and operational requirements.
