Shadows in the night: 20th FW employs SCEWR in new, dynamic airspace exercise

The 20th Fighter Wing flightline becomes vacant as F-16C Fighting Falcons take off during the first-ever implementation of the South Carolina Electronic Warfare Range (SCEWR) initiative in a training exercise at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Feb. 14, 2023. While 20th Fighter Wing pilots currently receive world class training, SCEWR provides the opportunity to take the training to the next level by expanding the scope of airspace and training threat emitters to better prepare them for potential future combat scenarios.
