Calibration station
U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Jeremiah Zimmer, 20th Component Maintenance Squadron precision measurement equipment laboratory journeyman, places a label onto a calibrated piece of equipment at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Dec. 22, 2016. The PMEL flight receives equipment from various flights across the Air Force to calibrate, ensuring the equipment’s accuracy is within a certain range before being sent back to its assigned flight with the appropriate label. The labels indicate date of calibration as well as the next due date for the tool to return to the PMEL flight, the tool’s identification number, and the flight’s stamp.
