U.S. service members perform training operations for their respective career fields at Poinsett Electronic Combat Range, near Wedgefield, S.C., April 23, 2015, and Sept. 3, 2015. Both ground and air units take advantage of the 12,500 acre range to train for deployments.

Although the 20th Fighter Wing maintains Poinsett, other Defense Department units such as the U.S. Army Special Operations Command and Marines assigned to Marine Corps Station Beaufort, S.C., use the range to practice various skills such as close air support controls and roadside bombing training in field conditions.
