Press Release: 79th FS to participate in CA, CF exercises

The 79th Fighter Squadron is scheduled to participate in exercises Combat Archer 18-2 and Checkered Flag 18-1 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida, Nov. 6 - 17.

CA 18-2 provides participating pilots an opportunity to practice air-to-air missile testing, while CF 18-1 is a large-force employment, live-fly exercise focusing on integrating 4th and 5th generation fighter aircraft, including both offensive counter air and defensive counter air elements. Other airframes involved in CF 18-1 include the: F-15C Eagle, F-15E Strike Eagle, F-16CM Fighting Falcon, F-22 Raptor, F-35A Lightning II, and the E-3 Sentry. Air Combat Command exercise programs such as CA and CF are designed to ensure lethal, ready air superiority.
