In honor of the upcoming New Year, take a look at this #FlashBackFriday New Year’s Eve Ball set-up from 2005. Airmen from the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineering Squadron took 72 hours to build the ball, which included 417 lights. The ball was lowered down in front of a crowd as they counted down to 2006. SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- In honor of the upcoming New Year, take a look at this #FlashBackFriday New Year’s Eve Ball set-up from 2005.

Airmen from the 379th Expeditionary Civil Engineering Squadron took 72 hours to build the ball, which included 417 lights. The ball was lowered down in front of a crowd as they counted down to 2006.

This year, the 20th Force Support Squadron will be hosting events at the Wateree Recreation Area from 8 p.m. to 12:20 a.m. and at Shaw Lanes from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.
