SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- F-16CM Fighting Falcons assigned to the 20th Fighter Wing taxi down the flightline during a surge at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina, Jan. 10, 2017.

Surges allow Airmen to catch up on flying hours which may have been lost due to inclement weather or other poor flying conditions, allowing them to meet requirements and start again with a clean slate.
