A&FRC helps Team Shaw save Published March 6, 2018 By Airman and Family Readiness Center 20th Force Support Squadron SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Team Shaw observed Military Saves Week along with the Department of Defense, Military OneSource, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, and America Saves Feb. 26 - Mar 2. The campaign, held by the 20th Force Support Squadron Airman & Family Readiness Center, was aimed at helping military service members, DOD civilians, and their families stay mission ready by improving financial fitness. The A&FRC advises those wishing to increase household savings, decrease consumer debt, and improve financial literacy education take the following key steps to gain and maintain financial fitness and personal readiness: 1. Set a financial goal. 2. Develop a financial plan. 3. Commit to saving automatically. 4. Understand where your money is going. 5. Schedule a budget appointment with the A&FRC. The A&FRCs dedication to improving Team Shaw’s readiness extends beyond Military Saves Week. The center offers courses on subjects ranging from retirement and investment options to couponing, as well as non-finance courses such as stress management. All Team Shaw members are welcome to attend these classes, and squadron leaders can arrange to have A&FRC personnel visit their units to teach these courses en masse.
