On April 26, the 20th Fighter Wing participated in a Comprehensive Airman Fitness Day.

The day was designed to boost the morale of Airmen and family members, help them to become more resilient and better-equipped to deal with the rigors of military life, and focus on the four pillars which are: social, physical, mental, and spiritual well being.

Throughout the day, there were several events that took place starting with the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness run at the beginning of the day, several briefings on how to live a better life, a motorcycle safety ride, and a group activity amongst peers.

"The day was designed to not only help the service members, but to also let family members know that we care about our members as well as their families," said 1st Lt. Alexandra Nichols, U.S. Air Forces Central deputy chief of intelligence. "The mission is important and so are resilient Airmen, so if the Airmen feel better about the day-to-day life, the mission is better."

With most of the base participating in the events, all the pillars were covered from physical to spiritual in a way that kept the day moving toward more positive attitudes and guidance on Shaw, said Nichols.

"It is wingman day, and the goal is that once the day is over you have a better understanding of your Airmen," said Chief Master Sgt. James Wilkerson, 20th Fighter Wing command chief.
