The 20th Component Maintenance Squadron held a tour for the spouses of 20th CMS members here March 22, to show what their Airmen do to contribute to Shaw's mission.

"It's great to get the spouses out to see what their husbands do on a daily basis," said 2nd Lt. Stephanie Shaw, 20th CMS accessories flight officer in charge.

The spouses visited the fuels hangar to see maintenance being done on the fuels systems in the aircraft; the test cell, where aircraft engines are tested; and the Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory, where equipment is repaired, calibrated and/or modified.

The spouses also visited the propulsion flight, where maintenance of the engines of the aircraft is performed; avionics, where Airmen test components on the aircraft; and electronic warfare, where pods that jam the enemy's radar signals are made and placed on aircraft.

Spouses were not only able to see for themselves what their Airmen do every day, they were specifically able to experience what 20th CMS does.

"It was pretty interesting actually seeing what my husband does," said Ashley Gabel, wife of U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. William Gabel, 20th CMS electronic warfare systems team member. "It helped me understand just what he is talking about when he comes home talking about his work day."
