Seven of the recipients volunteered more than 500 hours each with AADD. Seven of the recipients are executive council members of AADD and volunteered more than 1,000 hours, said Staff Sgt. Misty Moreno, AADD council vice president.

"AADD is an organization that provides an alternate way for servicemembers to get home safely when they've been drinking alcohol," said Senior Airman Cory Lutzow, AADD council president. "Driving drunk can ruin careers or worse - cause accidents, and we try to prevent that from happening."

"These great volunteers gave much of their time to prevent Airmen from driving drunk and they need to be recognized," Airman Lutzow said. "This is the first annual AADD awards ceremony, but we plan on doing this for years to come."

AADD needs help (with volunteers), Sergeant Moreno said. The same people are volunteering every week and it isn't enough to keep the program going strong.

"If you called for a ride one weekend, volunteer the next," Sergeant Moreno said. "Do your part to keep this much needed program operational."
