Approximately 250 Airmen of United States Air
Forces Central Command and their family members took a break here December
13, in order to "relax and reconnect" with each other at the first AFCENT
Children's Holiday party.

Work at AFCENT headquarters gets very busy; and consistently traveling
between forward bases in the Area of Responsibility and Shaw, this event
provided a chance for AFCENT family members to get together with other
families on the team to socialize, according to Master Sgt. Emilia Martin,
one of the event coordinators.

"This event provided an opportunity to bring everyone together to show that
we appreciate our families -- the spouses and children," the AFCENT first
sergeant said. "All the kids had such a great time; it also provided an
opportunity for the spouses to get together, socialize and network with each
other."

All funds, food, art projects and entertainment were provided by AFCENT
spouses and the 9AF/AFCENT Enlisted Association.
