The Enlisted Spouses' Club hosted Shaw's first "Give Thanks Bazaar" Nov. 3, in the fitness center's old gym.

"This was our first Give Thanks Bazaar and we had about 30 vendors sign up to participate," said Ashley Klodt, Enlisted Spouses' Club president.

The proceeds generated from this event go toward the many charity and base functions that the Enlisted Spouses' Club supports from buying the cake for the monthly base promotion ceremonies to donating to the Fisher House Foundation.

Vendors in attendance ranged from those selling scented candles to those selling baby clothes and photography. A bounce house was also provided to entertain children while parents browsed the bazaar.

"This year we added the family element by having a kid's corner with face painting, a bounce house and a station where kids can make cards for veterans," said Klodt.

In years preceding the Thanksgiving bazaar, the Enlisted Spouses' Club hosted a smaller crafts fair in which enlisted spouses could advertise and sell their skills and homemade crafts.

"We've taken it a notch higher this year," Klodt continued. "When you think bazaar, you think big, you think outrageous, you think fun. That's exactly what we tried to bring to this event, and next year we hope to bring it even higher."
