Shaw surpasses Combined Federal Campaign goal Published Jan. 13, 2012 20th MDG/SGNE SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The 50th Anniversary of the Combined Federal Campaign has officially ended with Team Shaw raising approximately $228,289 and earning the highest recognition of the campaign, the Eagle Award. The award was presented to Team Shaw by Maj. Gen. James M. Milano on behalf of the Midlands Area CFC during the victory celebration at Ft. Jackson, S.C., Dec. 12, 2011. The "Eagle Award" is presented annually based on the following criteria: total dollars raised, increase in giving, highest per capita giving increase and highest participation. Team Shaw reached another milestone by surpassing its $175,000 goal. Individual groups, as part of Team Shaw, also received awards. The 20th Operations Group, the 20th Medical Group and Third Army/U.S. Army Central were awarded the Gold Certificate, which required per capita giving of $76 or more. The 20th Fighter Wing Staff Agencies received the Silver Certificate, which consisted of per capita giving of $45 or more. The CFC was established in 1961 by John F. Kennedy. "His vision: An annual fundraising drive based on the idea of 'one gift, once a year' to improve the quality of our local community, nation, and world." Team Shaw met its goal in helping to make President Kennedy's vision a reality.
