Shaw, Sumter remember POW/MIA

A ceremony was held in front of the Sumter County court house recognizing national prisoners-of-war and missing-in-action day, Sept. 16, 2011. During the ceremony, Louis Blanding Fowler, former prisoner of war, spoke about his service in World War II and was presented a POW/MIA flag. Several Sumter residents attended the event as well as U.S. Air Force and Army personnel.
