Do you have a love for singing? If so, the 20th Force Support Squadron has the perfect opportunity for you. Shaw Idol 11' is a talent competition that will start in September for four consecutive weeks on Wednesdays.

Those interested in the competition will sign up via email. The contest will be limited to the first 50 people to sign up.

Preliminary tryouts are scheduled to take place at the Carolina Skies Club Sept. 7, and will consist of a 90-second a cappella tryout.
The competition will have three judges per week, and they decide if the participants will progress to the first round.

Only 20 contestants will move on to the first round. After the first week, it is up to the audience to decide who their favorite is.

The top ten contestants will move on to the semi-finals, and the same process will continue each week, until the Shaw Idol is crowned.

The first prize winner will receive a trophy and $100.

Song choice will be in good taste and not contain any language that would bring discredit to the event and the Air Force, according to 20th FSS officials.

The contest is open to anyone with an ID card who is 17 years of age or older.
