55th "Shooters" depart for Green Flag exercise

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. --  Members from the 55th Fighter Squadron took off from Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., Aug. 12, 2011, to participate in Exercise Green Flag West. Green Flag West is an exercise that is held at Nellis AFB, Nev., and takes place ten times a year to prepare aircraft and crews for ground support combat training.
