Family Health Expo to be held at MDG campus Aug. 18

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The 20th Medical Group and the Health and Wellness Center will be hosting a family health expo for Team Shaw members on August 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m at the front of the medical clinic entrance.

The purpose of the expo is to encourage Airmen, Soldiers, retirees and their families to be proactive about their health and quality of life.

Team Shaw members and visitors can expect to receive valuable information from Dental, Primary Care, Mental Health, TRICARE, Family Advocacy, Airman and Family Readiness Center, Red Cross, the fitness center, Information, Tickets and Travel and other base agencies.

There will also be activities such as a relaxation demonstration for adults, a bouncy castle for kids, sack races, bean bag tosses and frisbee throws.

"This expo is designed to be a one-stop shop to show how Shaw takes care of the whole family," said Brenda Marshall, HAWC office manager. "We are showing how you can educate yourself to lead a healthy lifestyle by utilizing services available to you right here at Shaw."
