Visitor authorization process streamlined Published July 15, 2011 20th Fighter Wing Public Affairs SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The 20th Security Forces Squadron has streamlined the base entry authority list procedure to simplify larger groups entering Shaw. All EAL submissions and processing will happen at the visitor control center just outside the main gate. Entry authority lists can be digitally signed with the requester's Common Access Card and sent to sfs/eal@shaw.af.mil. For a template, email this same address. For the process to flow effectively, the EAL needs to contain: · the requested dates and times; · a list of guests in alphabetical order; · a digital signature; and · the finalized EAL. If you can't digitally sign an EAL, prepare a paper copy which contains all of the above information, print it, and hand carry it, along with your Defense Department identification card, to the VCC for verification and signature. Advise your guests to use only the main gate (on U.S. 378) for base access and to be prepared to show a valid state or federal government-issued identification to the gate guards. Hours for the VCC are 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Sunday. For questions or information, contact Master Sgt. Eric Jones or Ray Owens at 895-9085.
