Hundreds of members from Team Shaw participated in the monthly five kilometer warrior run at the sports complex here June 18.

The warrior run is a self paced 3.1 mile timed run that occurs around the middle of the month.

It promotes physical fitness for Airmen and provides the opportunity for espirit de corps activities with fellow service members, added Chief Master Sgt. Carol Archangel, 20th Comptroller Squadron superintendant.

"I try to challenge myself every time to beat my previous time on the last warrior run," she said.

Master Sgt. John Hendrix, 20th Comptroller Squadron first sergeant has been participating in the warrior run since he arrived here in April, he said.

"I enjoy the warrior run because it gives Airmen the chance to get out, get camaraderie, and get physically fit," concluded Sergeant Hendrix.

The next warrior run will be at the sports complex July 16 at 7 a.m.
