From March 23 to 30, the main gate here will be closed to inbound traffic. While the main gate is closed, those entering should use the Frierson Road gate, the north gate or the Sycamore Street gate. The Sycamore Street gate will be open for inbound access only.

Main gate traffic: Normal inbound, one-lane outbound

SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- Shaw's main gate has reopened to inbound traffic. Traffic re-routing was necessary for construction, according to Robert Jones, 20th Civil Engineer Squadron maintenance engineer.

Jones added that demolition of old gate structures was to have begun March 30, but traffic is now able to enter normally.

Outbound traffic is still restricted to one lane until April 10, then should be back to normal, he said.
