The Air Force implements approved ideas and recognizes those ideas with the appropriate cash or non-cash award by the Department of Defense to military, civilian employees and contract personnel. Submitters can be awarded up to $10,000 or receive non-monetary recognition, depending upon the submitter's status, job duties at the time of submission, type of idea and approval and whether the idea has intangible benefits or validated tangible savings based on the implementation of the idea. "We believe the IDEA program is headed to amazing new frontiers and will be once again the leading shaper of innovation across the Air Force," said Ester Bullock, 20th Force Support Squadron installation IDEA program manager. "The Air Force needs the IDEA program because it has proven its worth repeatedly to senior leaders in the last two years.
