Thirty Army posts and Air Force bases in the continental U.S. will have their Army and Air Force Exchange Service car care centers converted to Firestone Complete Auto Care centers.

Shaw is now the ninth to welcome the auto care company.

After a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, Shaw customers can now purchase Firestone tire and battery, oil, brake, alignment, steering and suspension services.

"It's a win-win situation," said Col. Dean Anderson, vice commander of the 20th Fighter Wing at the grand opening. "The power of a great brand name will draw in more customers resulting in larger AAFES contributions to our morale, welfare and recreation programs."

Firestone repair prices will be discounted 10 percent cheaper than at off base locations. Lubrication costs will be 5 percent lower than those downtown.

Firestone will also honor the AAFES tire service agreement for tires purchased prior to the conversion.
