How We Live magazine is showing their support for active-duty and retired service members who have served in any past or present operations to protect our freedom such as Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom and the current war in Afghanistan.

The South Carolina-based magazine is offering a paid, one-room makeover for a lucky servicemember or veteran.

Rooms that can be entered into the makeover drawing are: the master or guest bedroom, formal living, formal dining room, the kitchenette, and last but most certainly not least, the patio or screened-in-porch. Unfortunately for military dorm room residents, your dorm rooms cannot be entered into the sweepstakes.

Each quarter, from July 4, 2009 to July 4, 2010, a lucky winner will be picked from the contestants and announced. At a minimum, there will be one winner per quarter.

However, according to the magazine's sweepstakes announcement, with enough donations from the community, How We Live magazine hopes to bring even more smiles and new styles to military families.

The before-and-after makeover views will be documented by How We Live magazine photographers and featured in the "What's Your Style?" department in the magazine's upcoming edition, as well as on its site. Each winner will take part of the next quarter's on-air promotions.

Even though How We Live magazine would like to find people that own their own homes, they understand that most military families rent housing, so for renters who would like to enter this sweepstakes, they urge you to make sure to ask permission from your landlord for any of the rooms in your home to undergo a room makeover.

A few of the local businesses that have donated time, money, furniture, and manpower are Home Depot, Model House Interiors, Myers and Myers Builders and Time Warner Cable.

No purchase is necessary for entry into the sweepstake. If you'd like to know more, or to send in your sweepstakes form; go to http://www.howwelive.biz and click on sweepstakes.
