Shaw Automotive Enthusiasts Club members came together this holiday season to bring supplies to the nearly empty food locker at the Airman and Family Readiness Center Dec. 23. More than 200 pounds of groceries were delivered to the A&FRC along with several items for babies.

Tech. Sgt. Matt Thewes, 28th Operational Weather Squadron, Tech. Sgts. Jeff Hoggard and Mike Hollins, 20th Logistics Readiness Squadron and Tech. Sgt. Damaris Quintiliani, 20th Medical Group, helped with this recent event.

The A&FRC operates on food donations throughout the year to sustain the base populace as needed. Military members of all ranks can use the food locker if they come up short on food or funds.

Arlyne Rzepecki, a representative from the A&FRC, said the food stock level fluctuates, but the holidays are an especially tough time of the year for most people.

Food locker donations are accepted anytime throughout the year at the A&FRC. Donations may be any non-perishable food item, baby food, formula, diapers or wipes.

Sergeant Matt Thewes, SAEC vice president, has linked the SAEC to the A&FRC. The SAEC has offered up free automotive advice to family members of deployed Airmen through the A&FRC. Additionally, the A&FRC gives certificates for free oil changes and the SAEC will detail a deployed member's car prior to their return.

Deployed spouses who need automotive advice or want their deployed member's car detailed prior to their return should contact any member of the SAEC listed above, or email Sergeant Thewes at matt.thewes@shaw.af.mil.
