COLUMBIA, S.C. -- Master Sgt. John F. Kennedy, 20th Force Support Squadron superintendent of Airman and Family Readiness, sings "God Bless America" during the Palmetto Boys State opening ceremony June 8. Palmetto Boys State is a one-week program designed to teach young men about the governmental system and the politics that make it run. During the week, each young man will have the opportunity to run for and be elected to mock offices ranging from city level positions to state constitutional offices. Approximately 1,000 young men participated in the program founded by the American Legion. (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Nathan Bevier)
