SHAW AIR FORCE BASE, S.C. -- The Restoration Advisory Board met Dec. 10 to bring Shaw, Sumter and local residents together to provide and update on the cleanup effort of trichloroethylene, or TCE, in local ground water.

A community survey was recently completed by LRS Federal regarding the RAB's cleanup effort. LRS Federal assists Shaw in gauging community reactions to the contamination.

Shaw has been aggressively cleaning up TCE since the early 1990s. The purpose of the RAB meeting is to inform the public about the progress and answer any questions or concerns they may have.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 9, 2008 at the New Beginnings Banquet Facilities in Highway 441.
