This week's Shaw Spotlight is Tech. Sgt. Sandra Alvor-Thrash, a 20th Fighter Wing Chaplain NCO in charge of training and readiness from Dallas, Texas.

Thrash has been in the military for 11 years and stationed at Shaw for five years.

Thrash's favorite quote is Matthew 7:12, "So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you."

"It's how my parents raised me, and as I grew I saw that it was true," said Thrash.

Thrash strives to have the most positive effect on people's lives as possible, she exclaimed.

"Tech. Sgt. Alvor-Thrash is the type of person who constantly displays a 'glass is half full' attitude and spirit," said Master Sgt. Nicholas Cataldi, 20th Fighter Wing Chaplain superintendent of chapel operations.

Family: Husband and five daughters

Music: Everything, but I like to listen to Latin music mostly. Tunes are required if I am working in the kitchen.

Movie: O Brother, Where art thou? I don't know why, but I really enjoy that movie.

Biggest accomplishment:
To date, my biggest accomplishment was giving birth to my babies. Next big accomplishment will be to see them succeed in life.

Heroes: My parents. They worked hard to give my family a good upbringing and overcame many obstacles to get where they are today. Through all of that, their faith in God was first and foremost and they taught us that every day.

Goal: Drive a pink Cadillac

Guilty Pleasure: Any kind of chocolate dessert

Sport Teams: None

Hobbies: Being a mom and an independent beauty consultant
