Warrior of the Week: Staff Sgt. Rose Price

This week's Warrior of the Week is Staff Sgt. Rose Price, 20th Medical Support Squadron NCOIC of resource management, originally from Panama City, Fla.

She is responsible for financing and manpower for the 20 MDG. Price enjoys seeing how she contributes to building the 20 MDG.

Price was recently coined for great professionalism and leadership, said Senior Master Sgt. Leonard Hyland, 20 MDG first sergeant.
"She is the lead physical training leader for the squadron, and has done an amazing job in increasing our pass rate and decreasing our fail rate," said Hyland. "She exemplifies our Core Values and is truly one of the 20 MDG's best."


Family: Husband, Army Sgt. 1st Class Julius Price, and 3-year-old son, Jordan

Hobbies: Sports: basketball, softball and power lifting. She placed fourth in the "Strongest in the Area of Responsibility" competition during her deployment in 2009.

Favorite music: Rhythm and Blues, Musiq Soulchild

Favorite Sports Team: Los Angeles Lakers. Her husband, however, is a Miami Heat fan.

Favorite movie: "Coming to America"

Guilty Pleasure: Reality TV

Hero/mentor: "My dad. He was active duty Air Force for 22 years. Seeing his struggle trying to support my mom, my brother and I. He would send all of his money home while away and live on 20 dollars.

Goals: Finish her master's degree in either human resources or health care management. She is looking into going to officer candidate school.

If you could spend one hour with anyone, who would it be and why? "Retired Army Brig. Gen. Rhonda Cornum. Her husband was an Air Force general and she was one the P.O.W.s in Desert Storm. ."

Favorite food: Chinese and Mexican

Biggest accomplishment:
"Being able to earn my bachelor's in psychology, deploy, get married and have a baby within two years."

If you could only have three things while stuck on a desert island, what would they be? "A boat, duh. But seriously, a companion, a hatchet and a fishing pole."
