12 senior non-commissioned officers assigned to units garrisoned at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., were recognized for being selected to promote to the rank of chief master sergeant at Shaw, Jan. 6 and 8, 2025. The selectees were congratulated by the Shaw AFB chief’s group during a bus tour of the base. The selectees were also lauded during a social gathering and given a model jeep keychain. Both events are Air Force traditions designed to recognize those selected to join the 1% of the U.S. military’s enlisted force that achieves its highest rank. Senior NCOs assigned to U.S. Air Forces Central, 15th Air Force, the 20th Fighter Wing and the 25th Attack Wing were among those selected for promotion to chief master sergeant.
