The 20th Fighter Wing received the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for exceptionally meritorious service June 1, 2014, through May 31, 2015.

"Congratulations to the 20th FW on its selection to receive the 2015 Air Force Outstanding Unit Award," said Gen. Hawk Carlisle, Air Combat Command commander. "It is an honor to have such dynamic professionals as members of the Air Combat Command team. It is a privilege to recognize such excellence."

Awarded by the secretary of the Air Force, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award is given to units that have distinguished themselves through outstanding achievement that clearly sets the unit above national or international significance, combat operations against an armed enemy of the United States, or military operations involving conflict with or exposure to hostile actions by an opposing foreign force.

"This award is a product of the hard work and dedication the men and women of the 20th  FW show every day in their continued efforts to provide combat-ready airmen and airpower in the defense of our nation," said Col. Stephen Jost, 20th FW commander.

Airmen assigned to the 20th FW, the largest combat F-16CM Fighting Falcon wing in the Air Force, prominently maintain its role at the forefront of protecting American interests at home and abroad.
