Airmen assigned to the 20th Fighter Wing returned from a deployment here, April 18, and 20.

Despite the early Saturday morning and late night hours, family members of 20th FW Airmen gathered in hangar 1200 to watch their returning Airmen deplane.

"It is always a pleasure to watch families reunite after an Airman has worked long and hard serving their country," said Col. Stephen Jost, 20th FW commander.

Approximately 200 Airmen deployed to the United States Central Command area of responsibility for six months.

"20th FW Airmen are expected to be world-wide deployable and ready to go at a moment's notice to meet the needs of the Air Force," said Jost. "Without the support of each and every one of them we could not provide combat ready Airpower."

Monday afternoon several F-16CM Fighting Falcons assigned to the 77th Fighter Squadron returned from the CENTCOM AOR.

"These professionals represent all that is good about our Air Force," said Jost. "They met the challenges laid before them and it is great to have them back."

The 20th FW's mission is to provide combat-ready airpower and Airmen to meet any challenge, anytime, anywhere.
