The 20th Force Support Squadron hosted a free travel fair at the Carolina Skies Club and Conference Center here, March 4.

With the high tempo of today's Air Force, Airmen can be asked to work long hours or deploy at a moment's notice, which could cause stress on the service member.

To help relieve that stress, the 20th FSS Studio 20 wanted to show the Airmen different attractions and hotels within the local community that they can visit on their time off to help them stay resilient.

"Maintaining resiliency, being able to relax and spend time with family is probably the most important reasons service members should take vacations," said Tammy Reed, 20th FSS Studio 20 retail operations lead. "Not many military members are aware of the attractions available to them, so it's nice we can show them."

At the fair there were displays from amusement parks, boat tours, and locations that are part of the 20th FSS Outdoor Recreation Center.

"As Airmen we come to work every day, work as hard as we can, go home, and get ready for the next day," said Senior Airman Walter James, 20th FSS fitness technician. "It's important that we take time for ourselves every now and then, going to see some new sights and just have some fun. In order to stay resilient we have to enjoy ourselves occasionally."

The fair gave attendees the ability to walk around and speak with different representatives about the services they provide. The vendors discussed different package deals, events, and prices.

"At the end of the day we all need a break occasionally," said James. "So the fact the 20th FSS was able to put on an event like this and show us breaks we can take is pretty nice, it really shows they care."

Door prizes were given throughout the evening, and almost everyone walked away with a handful of brochures to help plan their next vacation and stay resilient service members.
