The 20th Fighter Wing Shaw Chapel hosted a parent meet and greet here, Sept. 3.

Family Advocacy and the Airman and Family Readiness Center assisted the Chapel by hosting an event for Team Shaw's parents to come out and get to know each other.

"This event allowed our military families to come together for a strong family-structured event that also gave some great information that can be used by our Team Shaw Families," said Staff Sgt. Jamyal Lett, 20th FW chaplain assistant.

Chaplain Holmes made a presentation, entitled "Light Parenting", which focused on love, invest, grace, honesty, and talking positively.

Chief Master Sgt. Charles Mills, 20th FW command chief, spent time speaking with the parents about how they are superheroes to their children and how valuable it is to spend quality time with them. He also had the opportunity to inspire the miniature future leaders by reading "Oh, the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss.

The Chief's message behind the book to the children was that it's easy to get bogged down, but the world is wide and opportunities present themselves every day to be a good person who will positively impact the world, stated Lett.

Time is the most precious thing that can be given to a child, states Mills.

"What 30 minutes is most important, what 30 minutes are your kids going to remember," Mills added. "Time is what you have the most of; time is what our family asks for."
