The Airman and Family Readiness Center hosted Shaw's quarterly job fair at the Community Activity Center here, Aug. 28.

Approximately 100 members of Team Shaw and 20 employers from the local area attended the job fair, seeking career opportunities. Employers were from a variety of local businesses from the community.

"With the drawbacks happening, spouses needing jobs, and members retiring, there's a higher need for jobs so we've created Operation Get a Job," said Erica Brown, 20th Force Support Squadron A&FRC community readiness specialist. "Instead of having one job fair a year we're going to have one each quarter. We are giving members of Shaw the opportunity to network with local employers and is open to anyone with a military ID."

The A&FRC also provides employment services including résumé writing classes and interview skills classes to help prepare Airmen and their families for employment.

From banking to medical and law enforcement careers, Team Shaw was provided several options.

"The job fair shows not only me but fellow wingmen, Soldiers, and our families the options that are available if we plan to stay in the area," said Staff Sgt. Terra Johnson, 20th Mission Support Group unit deployment manager. "I plan on separating soon and the job fair has helped me to start my transition."
